Position Overview:
Impact Recruiting Solution is currently seeking an Intern to fill an opening with a network of federally qualified community health centers located in the Bronx, New York. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population within a mission-driven community health setting.

Qualifications:
  • Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
  • Licensure: Must have an active State medical license. Must be Board Certified.
  • Experience: Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in conducting medical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and utilizing electronic health records.
  • Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, empathy, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examines or conducts tests on patients to provide information on medical conditions.
  • Analyzes records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the medical condition of the patient.
  • Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Collects, records, and maintains patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination reports.
  • Refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. Complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
  • Advises patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and follows federal/state and organization regulations in this regard.
  • Plans, implements, or administers health programs or standards in the organization for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
  • Attends scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings as well as education meetings.
  • Agrees to see patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis.
  • Provides 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
  • Conducts research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent or control disease injury.
  • Obtain and maintain admitting privileges to Urban Health Plan's affiliated hospitals.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
